Disclaimer and Editorial Limits

Goes Wedding publishes consumer research about wedding purchasing decisions for readers in the United States. This page sets out what that is, and what it is not.

No professional advice of any kind. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, accounting or insurance advice.

Nothing on this site is medical or health advice: we make no health claims anywhere, on any page, and no content here should be read as guidance about a medical condition, a treatment, a product's health effects, or anyone's physical or mental wellbeing.

Reading this site, using its calculators, or corresponding with us creates no attorney-client, advisory, fiduciary, agency or other professional relationship. For advice about your own situation, consult a licensed professional in the relevant field and in your own state.

Financial and contractual decisions are yours. Wedding purchases are large, frequently non-refundable, and made under contracts with real consequences. A deposit you forfeit, a cancellation clause you misread or a lead time you miss can cost you money that cannot be recovered.

Every figure, range, timeline, checklist and calculator output on this site is general information for orientation and comparison. None of it is a quote, an offer, a guarantee, a valuation, or a prediction of what you will pay.

Before you sign anything or transfer money, read the actual document in front of you, confirm every term with the company itself, and obtain independent professional advice where the amount at stake warrants it.

Prices, fees and terms go stale. Prices, fees, discounts, service charges, postage rates, return windows, cancellation schedules, late fees, production times and shipping times change without notice, often silently. Every such figure on this site is recorded with the date on which we checked it, and it may already be out of date by the time you read it.

Where sources disagree, we publish the disagreement rather than a single number, and a range is not a promise that your own price will fall inside it. Always verify against the seller's own current page or written quote.

We do not test. We do not conduct laboratory testing, product testing, wear testing, print testing, delivery testing or site audits. We read published terms, compare them against independent sources, and record what we found and what we could not confirm.

Where we cite an independent hands-on test, we name the outlet and describe what it measured; that test is theirs, not ours, and its findings apply to the specific items tested. Absence of evidence about a company is reported as absence of evidence and is not a finding that anything is wrong with it.

Equally, a documented complaint is reported as an attributed individual complaint and is not a finding of a general pattern unless the source supports that.

No commission rates, and no rankings for sale. We do not publish commission rates, affiliate network names or cookie durations, because they change quietly and a reader cannot act on them. Coverage, ordering, table structure and verdicts are decided on editorial grounds.

Inclusion on this site is not for sale, cannot be purchased, and cannot be removed by request from a company that dislikes a finding.

Material connection disclosure. Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy after following one. Pages carrying such links disclose that above the point where you can click out.

That relationship does not change what we publish, and companies with no affiliate program are covered on the same terms wherever readers need them.

State-regulated and legally variable topics.

Marriage license requirements, waiting periods, license validity windows, officiant and celebrant qualification, and post-marriage legal name change are set at state level in the United States and vary between states and counties.

They also change.

Nothing on this site is a statement of the law in your state, and no timeline, form number, fee or sequence described here should be relied on in place of your own state's marriage authority, vital records office, motor vehicle agency, or the relevant federal agency.

Where we could not verify such a requirement to an official source, the correct output is the absence of the claim, and that is what we publish. Wedding insurance is outside our coverage entirely and no page here should be read as guidance about insurance products or coverage decisions.

Contract and refund terms. Deposit percentages, cancellation tiers, escalating retention schedules and force majeure language described on this site are contractual conventions observed in published guidance, not law. None of them is guaranteed to appear in your contract, to be enforceable, or to entitle you to a refund.

Enforceability varies by state and by the wording of the specific agreement. A force majeure clause governs whether a vendor is excused from performing; it does not on its own determine whether money comes back to you.

Trademarks and third parties. Company, product and service names are used nominatively for identification, comparison and commentary. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from those companies or their trademark holders, and no such relationship exists unless expressly stated.

Reviews reflect our reading of the evidence available on the date shown.

Editorial review. Content touching money, timing or signed contracts is reviewed by Renata Halloran, CWP, a practicing wedding planner. That review is an editorial quality process.

It is not professional advice to you, and no certifying body endorses this site or its content.

No warranty and limitation of liability. This site is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Goes Wedding is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything published here, including purchasing decisions, missed deadlines, forfeited deposits, contractual outcomes, or the acts or omissions of any third-party company mentioned.

Corrections. If a figure or a term here is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected]. We will check it against the source and update the page with a new check date.
